Existing Roads Audit (Safety Review)

A road safety audit of an existing road aims to ensure that the safety features of the road are compatible wit the intended purpose of the road, and to ensure that these are at an appropriate level of safety.

The use of a road and its safety condition could change over time, even though a road has been audited when it was built. This audit therefore also aims to identify any feature which may develop over time into a safety concern (e.g. visibility problem due to foliage). This stage of audit is independent of the first four as it can be carried out at any time on an existing road.
